A great application to manage all your travel needs is I have been using this application to manage all of my trips for many months now and it has worked out great. You can even go check your flight status at FlightStats. They even offer an upgraded membership for $49/year called TripIt Pro, which includes instant alerts about flight status, a frequent flyer points tracker, and flight refunds. You can also add TripIt to your Outlook or Gmail calendar. Just follow the detailed instructions on how to sync them.
Overall, I have found this to be a great way to manage all my vacation/trip needs.
